Another Morning, Another Green Smoothie

Woke up  less than refreshed and rejuvenated. Instead of reaching for the nearest espresso (courtesy of my fast for Lent) I’ve found green smoothies to be as rejuvenating as coffee, sans heart palpitations. This morning’s mix is simple, but amazingly tasty. Again, you absolutely cannot taste the spinach!

Morning Wake Up Mix

1.5 cup milk

2 handfuls spinach

1/2 banana

1/2 cup frozen strawberries

1 tbs peanut butter

This smoothie packs 56% of daily Vitamin A, 27% Vitamin C, Iron 5%, Calcium 3% plus a host of essential fats and minerals.

Since I am really loving my green smoothies, I feel a challenge coming on for May. 1 green smoothie a day for 31 days. I will document on the blog so you have examples of endless combinations.     Wow i just ran across your site for Sheena Lashay’s site. This is almost like the green smoothie i prepare for myself.
    i use the following
    spinach
    banana
    acai juice
    flax seen powder
